All About Seth: Seth Joseph Stewart was born on December 16, 1988, the first son of Samuel and Lisa Stewart. His parents were real estate brokers who lived in Virginia Beach, VA. Real estate on the beach is big business, so the family could afford a house right on the beach. They lived in what most people would consider a dream house. Seth was joined by Shawn David two years later. Right after Shawn was born, their mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through eight months of treatment before she was in remission. The Stewart’s were told they may not be able to have another child, so the family was surprised when Shiloh Elaine was born the year Seth turned 6. Once of Seth’s most prominent early memories is holding his little sister in the hospital, and watching his mom smile at them. It is something that he thinks about often, when things are tough.

Despite being the oldest, it seemed that Seth was the outcast of the three Stewart children. His brother Shawn was a gifted athlete from the time he could walk, excelling in anything he put his mind to. From the moment Shiloh began to talk it was hard for anyone to get her to shut up. But when she started to sing, man, people listened. Seth had always been extremely proud of Shiloh, and recognized and appreciated her gift. He had a soft spot for her, while he clashed more with Shawn. Even though Shawn was the younger brother, he could be a bully. He was popular, and his brother wasn’t. The two boys were completely different, and most of the sibling fighting in the household was between the two boys…with their baby sister begging them to stop.

Seth was a loner, and he knew it ever since he could understand the meaning of the word. It didn’t really bother him. What did bother him was the reactions other people had. He was teased and bullied not only by his younger brother, but by classmates. It didn’t help that he was genius-level smart. He enjoyed school, and he felt the most comfortable in the garage underneath his parent’s beach house, building things. When he was older he joined the robotics club, which became his true passion. Seth was extremely good, and earned recognition and acceptance through the robotics program. He found friends, and going into high school things were a little easier for him. Despite not being the all-around athlete that Shawn was, Seth was a part of the swim team all the way through school. He was a good swimmer, but not over-the-top good. It kept him in shape, and it was something he could do alone. Practicing for swim gave him time to think, or to not think. He liked to push his body to the limits.

Seth always felt that his parents pushed him harder than his siblings, especially his dad. Because Seth's talents were not as obvious as his siblings, Samuel Stewart seemed to focus on trying to make his eldest son more...more outgoing, more talkative, more friendly. When Seth was 10 his father started taking him along to show houses, and Seth hated it. It wasn't that he was rude, it's just that he preferred to be alone. Or with someone he knew. Deep down, Seth didn't feel like anything he did was good enough for his father. He finished every year with near perfect grades, but his brother and sister also usually had all A's. It was hard for Seth to stand up to his dad, but during the summer before his senior year he finally did. Seth wanted to go to school for engineering, and then join the Navy. Samuel was infuriated...since Seth was a tiny baby he had envisioned the boy taking over the real estate business. This issue became a big, blowout argument, which led to Samuel kicking the boy out of the house.

Of course, that didn't last. Seth was only gone for two nights. It was hardest on Shiloh, who at 12 didn't understand why her father was so angry with her brother for wanting to do what HE wanted to do. Shi knew that Seth was less outgoing than her and Shawn, and she knew he would hate taking over the family business. It was then that Shi told her parents that she planned to go into real estate. Even though her parents were skeptical that the 12-year-old really would take over, just the act of saying so helped smooth things over. Seth graduated valedictorian of his senior class, which meant he needed to give a speech at graduation. Outgoing and ever helpful Shiloh helped him write it, and it was a success.

Leaving his family was harder than Seth had imagined, and he missed his mom and little sister the most. His relationship with Shawn had become a little less tense as they got older, but they still weren't really friends. He was close with Shiloh as she began to grow up, but he also knew that she was close with Shawn. The two of them could sing together, where Seth couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Shawn graduated two years after Seth, and got a full-ride scholarship to a D2 school to play football. With both boys out of the house Shi got into a little more trouble that she had previous. During the year before the apocalypse, Shiloh's freshman year, she got in trouble for skipping class. Then she got in trouble for making out with a boy on the beach at night, and getting caught by the police. Both things were minor, but still, Seth felt responsible. He made an effort to come home more and spend more time with his sister. He realized it was just a phase, that Shi was growing up and that she was still a good girl, and their relationship deepened.

He was close with Shiloh as she began to grow up, but he also knew that she was close with Shawn. The two of them could sing together, where Seth couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Shawn graduated two years after Seth, and got a full-ride scholarship to Norfolk State to play football.

Seth was at college when the outbreak began. He heard some news reports, but didn't pay much attention because he was focused on finishing his final project and studying for finals. He was in a shop on campus, focusing on his work, when he heard his phone ring. Seth ignored it, he wanted to finish up what he could while he was on a roll. It rang again and he went over, and seeing that it was Shiloh, he silenced it. He would call her back later. Silencing his phone, Seth went on to work for three more hours before checking the device again.

The messages that Shiloh left for him were horrifying. She was talking about some man attacking their parents, killing them, and eating them alive. He would have thought that it was a prank, but there were several texts and calls that followed with no voicemails...all within 10 minutes of each other. Finally, another voicemail. "Seth....Seth please. I'm scared. Mom and Dad are dead. Why aren't you answering?" Then silence. He saw that there were other texts, and they were from Shawn. Those hurt him even more.

"What the hell dude? I'm on my way to try and recuse Shi. Haven't you seen the news? This shit it real."

Fifteen minutes later..."I'm having a hard time getting into town. Traffic is slammed. You need to come home. Shi said mom and dad are dead."

Two hours later... "I can't seem to get enough signal to call. Mom and Dad are gone, but I got Shi out. She is freaking out, she thinks you are dead too. Please call or text. Or better yet, come home."

Seth tried and tried with no avail to get a call through to his siblings. He tried both of their cells and the house phone, all the while gathering his things to get out. Many of the other students were doing the same. Despite the traffic nearly doubling the time it took, Seth made it home late that night. Shiloh was a mess, and Shawn was pissed. It was Seth who went back to the property, despite the danger, to retrieve his parents bodies. It was Seth who saw that they had turned. He didn't know what to do about it, so he left them in the house and never looked back. Two days later, the trio left Virginia Beach.

There was a definite rift between the two Stewart boys, and they fought constantly. It wasn't until Shiloh broke down again that they agree to bury the hatchet, and focus on staying alive. They headed for Washington D.C., hoping that the center of government for the entire country would be safe. But the closer they got, the more they realized how wrong that was. Next they decided that they should go south, and eventually west, to less populated areas. They spent some time with different groups, but most of the time this made Seth uneasy. He didn't know who he could trust, and he wasn't going to let anyone hurt Shawn or Shiloh. Unfortunately, he failed at that. The trio had been alone, and got caught by a whole mess of the undead. Shiloh had a meltdown because they were so close...she was still traumatized by the death of their parents. Seth was trying to get her away, and in the process they were separated from Shawn. They never saw him again.

Seth and Shiloh have recently stumbled upon Lake Townsend Country Club, and that is where they are staying. Please let me now if you have any questions, and congrats on making it to the end if you did!
